Senior Software Developer, Team Lead & Scrum Coach

Job role

Ferratum is an international provider of mobile consumer loans. I worked as senior software developer, team lead, and Lead Scrum Master — driving the agile transformation that coached the entire development team through the methodology change. This was my first leadership role, and it centered on developer enablement: I mentored developers transitioning to Scrum, established coaching rhythms, and built the CI/CD pipeline that accelerated delivery cycles.

Leading a distributed team across offices in Bratislava and Amsterdam, I hired and mentored new developers, defined the team's technical strategy, and ensured consistent engineering practices across locations. I also led the team that implemented security for the first Ferratum bank in Malta — a high-stakes project requiring cross-functional coordination and regulatory awareness. Beyond internal team development, I traveled to company offices in several countries, building relationships and aligning engineering practices across cultures. The agile transformation I led improved communication, shortened development cycles, and raised software quality across the organization.

Personal development

Overall this was a very important time in my career, i got to travel and work, experiencing different cultures and the importance of self-control and adaptability. I also learned a lot about leadership and project management, and it helped me to develop a strong understanding of the software development industry and the importance of delivering high-quality software solutions to clients. This experience laid the foundation for my future career in software development and entrepreneurship, and it helped me to develop a strong work ethic and the ability to manage my time effectively, which has been crucial for my success as a digital nomad and entrepreneur.
